Spent a little time this past weekend with my cousin Josh and his wife Vanessa, who was diagnosed with cancer right before they got married in Colombia last year. Together they overcame the disease, and I couldn’t be happier for them. Vanessa is as strong as she is beautiful.
Having Josh around again in the flesh has sparked a lot of reminiscing about our childhood together. We were some silly kids back in the day. Good times.
So I’ve been shooting a lot of black and white lately, which at the moment I prefer over color film. Maybe it’s just a phase. =)
This particular role of Tri-X took me a while to get through, but here goes:

Aw man, great post. Glad to be around these two months, and so happy to have more pictures of Vanessa and I together. Our families support and prayers has really helped us pull through, and I couldn’t be happier. Thanks for the shout out – Vane looks so cute, no matter what she thinks. 😉
Great shots of Bridge and the Suki as always. I expect we’ll get some more good ones together til December!
Thanks man! I did get this roll printed for you guys, and there’s more on the way. I can tell your wife is very accustomed to being photographed! Thrilled to have you guys back in SF for a while =)
That is a heavy way to start a marriage, I am glad it is gone so positive I hope this continues.Nice Leica shooting.
Thanks Jim, I’m sure Josh and Vanessa would tell you that working through the struggle together made their marriage that much stronger.
Love these pics so much. The ones of Vanessa are incredibly beautiful!!! I also really love the pics of Suki on the dark street. So mysterious!
Thanks! Vanessa does photograph well. 😉
Great post. The one thing I love about photography is being able to capture those key moments in people’s lives and being able to always have them to refer back to. I noticed Bridget with the EOS M in some recent posts. Any plans for a review?
Thanks! I haven’t got a chance to shoot with the EOS-M all that much yet, but I’ll post about it as soon as I can.
I hope you go back to digital soon. I miss your early blogs. In fact, you were my inspiration for my blog, and I even use The Journalist WordPress template because of you! Thanks. rongreene.wordpress.com
Appreciate the comment! I definitely still shoot digital. But lately I find that every time I head out the door, I always reach for my M3, which has become my favorite camera ever. Hopefully I’ll get some digital work on the blog soon enough =)
Wonderful photos! Love the sharp focus and the clearness.
I’m happy about Vanessa and Josh. Good for you all:))
Thank you! Not bad for a 60 year old lens, right? Thanks for the well wishes =)
Such lovely portraits. Glad to read that your cousin’s wife is doing awesome now.
Thanks Jackie, we’re all really relieved =)
These are really beautiful. I just picked up a rangefinder too!
Have you considered picking up a film scanner?
Cool! I have a scanner actually, but I’m lazy =P
Nice! What kind of scanner do you have? Do you have recommendation? Perhaps you could do a little mini write up on your experience with it!
I just LOVE the photo with your sleeping guy. Adorable creature and perfect picture! Lovely light and shadow’s play and composition itself. Cheers, wish you great shoots 😉 Oh, btw, ALL the pictures are awesome but this one just totally captured my senses for a while.
beautiful portrait man! cool 🙂
