The Meadow Fire

with 5 comments

A few weeks back we took a quick drive out to Yosemite. The park was its typical beautiful self, only there was a huge wildfire raging that day. Huge clouds of smoke billowed from behind the Half Dome and could be seen from just about anywhere we happened to be throughout our one-day visit.

As the sun fell, the plumes of smoke lit up in a beautiful, purplish hue, and we pulled to the side of the road to catch a stunning sunset.

I definitely have to come back for a more leisurely visit next time.

  1. Beautiful pics, the colors are so “punchy!” Bummer about all the fires in Yosemite, though…

  4. Glad I found another Bay Arean here! Such a shame about the fires. The images you posted are, dare I say, “beautiful”.
